Firefly Contributes to Spears for U.S. Senate Campaign
When Firefly CEO Mike Spears decided to run for U.S. Senate, he didn’t have to go far to find strategists and the design team to help build his political campaign.
In 2010, when Spears decided to run, the Firefly team quickly begin putting together big budget campaign materials on a shoe-string budget. Within a few weeks, the team had developed campaign branding and identity materials, including logos, push cards, campaign stickers, buttons and other promotional materials.
The website strategy was two-fold; to provide information and fundraising. The fundraising component incorporated online donation forms, and extended to social media channels, specifically Facebook using a custom viral campaign fundraising widget.
The website provided a simple and easy to use framework and content management system that allowed the campaign team to provide current information on-demand, and to quickly respond to current events and hot topics as they emerged throughout the campaign.
Firefly developed a public relations campaign that began with the announcement press conference and state-wide press releases. The campaign incorporated event appearances, issue-related press releases, and talk radio appearances.
Spears didn’t win the election, but his campaign materials and fundraising efforts put his campaign on the map and garnered a center stage spot in campaign debates with the incumbent and other party-endorsed (and funded) candidates.
